SpagoBI quick start

Objectives

The course provides the participants with knowledge and skills required to develop Business Intelligence projects using SpagoBI suite 3.x, alternating theoretical lectures focusing on the main BI concepts and handon sessions. The course refers to a well-structured learning case, allowing students to face all aspects of BI projects using SpagoBI suite.

Course outline

  • Open Source Business Intelligence and SpagoBI 3.x
  • SpagoBI suite modules: Server, Studio, Meta, SDK
  • Developing and inquiring a meta-model using SpagoBI Meta
  • SpagoBI Studio: basic operational concepts, relationship with the meta-model
  • SpagoBI Server: from the meta-model to the analytical documents (QbE, Smart Filter, Worksheet)
  • Types of users: Administrator, Developer, Tester, Normal User, Power User
  • Behavioural Model: roles and functions, analytical drivers, profile features
  • The publishing environment
  • SpagoBI roadmap and best practices.

SpagoBI Administrator

Objectives

The course provides the participants with knowledge and skills required to install, configure and manage SpagoBI environment within their BI projects.

  • Standard installation and configuration (portal, WebApp, SSO)
  • Security
  • Managing the suite: document scheduling, Import/Export, subscriptions, Audit & Monitoring, alarms

SpagoBI Basic Engines

Objectives

The course provides the participants with knowledge and skills required to use the basic and most employed engines of SpagoBI suite.
The course refers to a well-structured learning case, already used in “SpagoBI Quick Start” training course.

  • Free inquiry using the QbE engine
  • Ad-hoc reporting using the Worksheet engine

SpagoBI Advanced Engines

Objectives

The course provides the participants with knowledge and skills required to use SpagoBI advanced engines.
The course refers to a well-structured learning case, already used in “SpagoBI Quick Start” and SpagoBI Basic Engines” training courses.

  • Geographical analysis using the GEO and GIS engines
  • Performance analysis using the KPI engine
